El Crespo is situated in a little known area from Ciudad Real (Castilla La Mancha) called Fuenllana, a unique environment with so much to offer. Fuenllana is a genuine Spanish town of about 300 residents who mostly dedicate themselves to traditional agriculture. The medieval layout of the streets is determined by their location, at the foot of an ancient castle, and its beautiful Town Hall was built over San Agustin’s Convent. At the village entrance there is an old stone bridge, through which flows the Tortillo River. Full of quiet and peace, this charming village is characterized, as the rest of towns in the municipality of Campo de Montiel, by history and art in its purest form: Baroque, Renaissance, Gothic… From El Crespo we can enjoy a beautiful view formed by the surrounding quiet villages, where time has stopped to preserve its spirit and traditions: Villanueva de los Infantes, San Carlos del Valle, Villahermosa, Fuenllana, Almagro, Villamanrique… In addition, El Crespo lies a few kilometers from one of the most remarkable natural areas of Spain, Las Lagunas de Ruidera, a Nature Reserve located in the upper valley of the Guadiana River and full of lakes connected by waterfalls and surrounded by lush wildlife.
